Reforestation Project

Last month (I know I know, bad blogger) we were invited by our monkey group friends to plant trees as part of their reforestation project that took place during environmental week here in Costa Rica. Additionally, their project was celebrating its 20th anniversary with a host of activities, alumni monkey researchers, educational presentations to various school and much more. We planted over 30 trees which was a "light planting" as they planted several hundred in a two week time frame.

After the hard work, we had a great lunch and watched a short presentation about the National Park where their research takes place. Here is a short video of what they do, its incredible you should totally check it out:

After lunch we hiked to a small waterfall and had a refreshing soak before heading home. It was a great day to spend with family and friends, and was rewarding knowing we did a small part in helping the future of one of the last remaining dry rain forests in the country.

p.s. As I was writing this post I realized that I did try and post this one sooner but the internet wasn't cooperating and I was unable to load any photos... so there ya have it, not a bad blogger after all!
